Admission

Once you have decided to complete your degree, the last thing you need is to spend your time navigating complicated enrollment procedures. To simplify the enrollment process, an APU enrollment counselor coordinates the application and registration processes for you.

To assist you in the process, print out this checklist. In all cases, save copies of the documents you submit.

Evaluation

  • Fill out a CAPS Application for Admission and submit it along with your $25 application fee to the Center for Adult and Professional Studies. Official or unofficial transcripts must also be submitted to determine transfer credit.

Acceptance

Once an enrollment counselor has reviewed your application and transcripts, they will contact and notify you of your admission status. After you have been accepted, you will need to:

  • Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to be sent directly to APU's Center for Adult and Professional Studies. An official transcript is one in which Azusa Pacific University receives unopened in an envelope sealed by the former institution and which bears the seal of the college or university. Accredited military transcripts may be submitted for evaluation as well.
  • Request student copies of transcripts for the portfolio.
  • Submit a reference form identifying persons qualified to judge your academic or professional expertise.
  • Submit additional admissions materials as directed by your enrollment counselor.

If Applying for Financial Aid

  • Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the corresponding academic year available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Request financial aid transcripts from those institutions attended within the current calendar year. This is required by the U.S. Department of Education.

Registration

Qualified prospective students will be invited to the next scheduled registration meeting for the traditional program, or an online registration process for the online program. At the meeting students complete a timed writing exam, pay any outstanding fees ($25 application fee and $100 registration fee), and complete enrollment paperwork. Online students will complete this process online with an enrollment counselor.

Registration is by invitation only. Qualified traditional program students unable to attend this meeting may register individually by appointment.

Some programs (HDEV, BSOL, CL, MIS, CIS) begin as soon as enough students enroll to form a cohort. Nursing (RN to BSN) starts twice a year with a maximum of 22 students. The students form a cohort and complete the program as a group.

Note: Students in cohorts need only register once for the duration of the program.

International students must apply through the International Center: Please refer to the International Center website, or call (626) 812-3055 for specific details regarding international admissions requirements, financial information, and other general policies.
