Overview

APU’s psychology major equips students to delve into the human psyche. The degree provides a solid foundation in the history of psychology, personal social adjustment, human growth and development, abnormal, cross-cultural, and social psychology, statistics, and psychology research methods. These then provide a foundation for a concentration in one of eight areas: child life specialist, counseling psychology, family and child, general psychology, health psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, psychology and ministry, psychological sciences, or sports psychology .

Throughout the degree, students are encouraged to explore the intersection of Christian faith and psychology and to consider a Christian’s role in the psychological sciences. Psychology majors leave APU prepared to explore and influence human behavior.
